Awards

Gorwydd Caerphilly consistently does very well in all of the major cheese competitions. The cheese show and competition calendar is pretty full – testament to the popularity of this great artisan food. The main events are the British Cheese Awards, held annually in May at the Royal Bath and West Show in Somerset; the World Cheese Awards, held each November at various locations; the Global Cheese Awards, held each September at the Frome Cheese Show, one of the country’s longest running cheese shows; the International Cheese Awards, held each July at the Nantwich Cheese Show; and the Artisan Cheese Awards, held each April at the Artisan Cheese Fair in Melton Mowbray.

  1. I have just discovered your cheese! Oh how I have lived before this day ,I don’t know! As a self confessed cheese-o-holic, swearing my last supper would be cheese, I’ve died and gone to heaven. Thank goodness for Waitrose where I bought my first batch of Gorwydd Caerphilly. I never thought Welsh cheese could be so good, and I will be spreading your name. I hadn’t realised Caerphilly had gone, as my mother liked it as one of her favourites. Like mother like daughter! Thank you so much for the pleasure, Gail.

  2. Thanks Gail – lovely to hear how much you enjoy our cheese. Responses like these make all the hard work very worthwhile!!
